| I am Merja Jokela, a
Finnish breeder of black and white standard poodles. Standard poodles have been a
significant part of my life already for 20 years. Here in the picture on the right (and
also in the picture on index page) is Minkki, Ch. Ebony-Eve Midnight Minx, my very first
standard poodle. She was a multiple group winner, The Topwinning Standard in Finland 1989
and is the foundation of the Blue Velvet standards. Minkki
lived for 14,5 years, and to me she really was a dream come true, I will never forget her.
Today I have only one poodle at home, a black
girl called Eera, born in July 2003.
In the next pages you will learn more about poodles bred by me, and there are also
pictures of all the Blue Velvet champions so far. And you´ll get to meet our own poodles
as well, past and the present.
